Halloween

Kyle made it back from the last of his traveling October 31st! Just in time to celebrate with a Halloween meal and go trick-or-treating.

Our Halloween menu consisted of Salty Bones with Vampire Blood Dip, Mummy Pizzas, Carrot Fingers, and Apple Bites! The kids helped me make the whole meal. Definitely not gourmet, but lots of fun.

We went with a bug theme this year. Luke was jazzed to be Spider man and Chloe felt so "pretty" in her ladybug costume. She still asks to put it on!

October

October was a fun month. I swear Halloween is more for me than for my kids. I love the costumes and the festivities and of course the... CANDY!

The month started off with a bang. Hilary came to visit us and she brought Brad and Ashley. We had so much fun doing all the KC stuff. Hilary even took me on a killer date. She treated me like a queen and gave me a great break from having no husband for so many months. Thanks Hil!

Then with my fellow single mother Ali we made caramel apples. Again more for me than for the kids. Who doesn't love a caramel apple?

Next was pumpkin painting with the girls I visit teach. Luke is really into crafting these days since he started school.

We also got to take a trip to the fire station. Chloe would not take her fingers out of her ears for fear the sirens would go off. It was pretty funny.

Then we did our pumpkin carving. The kids were all excited about scraping out the ooey-gooey insides until the time came and then of course it turned into mom and dad's job.

September

Kyle spent June, August, half of September, and October traveling to different orthopedic programs around the country. The kids and I tried to keep busy and sane. We also enjoyed a few short weekends here and there with Kyle. We tried to do fun fall things like camping inside, pumpkin patches and hikes.

Luke also started preschool. He goes to a program at the high school where high school students run a preschool for a child development class. Luke loves the "big kids". He thinks he is super cool because the high school students hang out with him.

Summer Vaca 2010

We spent our summer vacation this year traveling between Utah, Idaho, and California. We sent Garrett off at the MTC. He is now serving a mission in Ukraine.

We went to visit the Cutler's and they were nice enough to let go to a cabin in Island Park with them. Luke LOVES his cousins!

We got to visit with Great Grandparents, both Zwahlen and Hobbs.
We had our first Barry Hobbs Family Reunion and everyone was able to be there!

Then we headed off to California to see Ross and Kay and visit Kyle at one of his ortho rotations. Luke was obsessed with Skeeter, the dog, but Chloe was pretty leary as you can see!

Chloe's 2nd Birthday

We also celebrated Chloe's birthday in Utah. She spent her 2nd birthday during the first Hobbs Family Reunion. All day long she hung out playing in the sand and boating with her cousins.

Then we had a weenie roast and everyone was there for cake and ice cream. She copies her brother, so she had to have a Lady Bug Pillow Pet, which is a theme that continues throughout the year as you will see!

Luke's 4th Birthday

Luke is 4!

Luke's birthday started in Missouri by celebrating with his friends at Chuck E. Cheese's.

Then we drove all the way to Utah to keep up the celebration. We had lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Hobbs in Salt Lake.

Later that night we opened presents and had cake with Tiffany and her kids. His birthday theme was frogs if you couldn't tell. He had been asking for a Frog Pillow Pet for months. That is what I get for letting him watch cartoons with infomercials!

June

Luke graduated from Joy School. It brought back fond memories of my own Joy School graduation more than 20 years ago.

Kelsey came to visit us in KC on her way to moving to Mississippi. We went to see the sights. Shortly after she was married to Kyle Harrington. We are very happy for her.

I turned 28! I am no spring chicken anymore and I feel it.

Chloe is a doll! We were headed to the pool, one of her favorite places.

May Madness

So I am catching up with life since May. It has been a crazy 6 months.

Third times a charm. May was an exciting month that presented pregnancy number 3!
