Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hope you are having a jolly green day St Patty's Day. This is a shout out to my mom who passed on the festive gene to all her kids. So far today we have had green pancakes, green PB honey sandwiches and a green smoothie. Some of my greatest memories growing up are the fun holidays my mom created. So thanks mom!

So Chloe has not eaten a vegetable since she stopped eating baby food. Seriously! Every time she puts a veggie in her mouth she says, "Yutty!" But we have witnessed a miracle! The last two nights she devoured asparagus and broccoli and even asked, "More mease!" I know it sounds crazy, but I kind of started to cry. Being a dietitian and all I have been trying to stay calm about her eating and not control/force her, but the relief I felt was well... GREAT. I know I am silly, but it was a great moment for me. Now that I wrote this I am sure I will chinks myself and Chloe, but oh well. I am happy for now!

Luke is all about dressing up these days and pretending things. He is following in his mothers footsteps. Except I won't make fun of him like my family made fun of me!!! :)

Chloe Joined the Ranks

Chloe has followed in her brothers foot steps and got tubes on Monday. She went through a series of emotions throughout the process, but by the time we got home she was happier than we have seen her in a long time. She is one tough cookie.

The funniest part of the whole experience was when the doctor reported to us after the procedure. He is a pretty serious, no-monkeying around kind of guy, but as soon as he saw us he got this little smirk on his face. And I quote, "Your daughter has quite the personality. Good luck with her the next 18 years." He continued, "she should be awake in the next 15 to 20 minutes" and then he started to chuckle again and said, "or probably sooner with her!" (referring to her spunkiness). I bet when we left her on the gurney she was screaming "NO!!!" in a demanding manner (I wonder where she learned that?), arching her back, and tyring to kick her way to freedom. Anyway, she did great and I guess I am just glad our kids have a personality!

The primary kids went to sing at a nursing home today for Valentine's and seriously Luke knew almost every word, sang at the top of his lungs, and my personal favorite, he sways from side to side the ENTIRE time. It is a riot! So head our way for the entertainment of the year. The kid was born to be on stage!

Making it Through January

So my great sister Hilary called me this week and we shared our woes of January. We are dealing with coming down from our"Christmas high", cold weather, sick kids, and trying to organize all our STUFF. Well, I have had a couple bad, home-locked days, but I am breaking out. We have been able to do some fun things like awesome 45 degree snow days, crafts at home, play dates, and an occasional Disney movie.

Merry Christmas 2009

We hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday! We had a wonderful time with family. My heart always drops when the Christmas season is over and I get a small case of the post-vacation blues, but I need to try and keep the Christmas spirit with me all year. I can serve, love, give gifts, and most of all think of my Saviour.

New Kitchen

Here is our new kitchen. It was a fast, pretty painless week of construction and now I don't feel like I am living in someone elses filth. They also put a sink with an actual countertop in the downstairs bathroom. Now we just have to live here another 30 years until they do the upstairs bathroom!
